Masters in Sustainable Communities

VISION

The [proposed] Master of Arts program in Sustainable Communities empowers its graduates to advance the long-term wellbeing of the places they live, work, and volunteer. It draws on the complementary strengths of several disciplines to work toward solutions that no single perspective can provide. Resilient communities in the 21st century require the participation of leaders with a deep understanding of the pillars of sustainability and the connections among them. Graduates of this program will understand complex connections among environmental systems, economic health, and social equity. They will be well prepared to work on teams with experts in each of these areas to advance progress that is conscious of all three.
